Reviewing AI-generated job descriptions before posting
By NUMARK.AI Editorial
An AI-generated job description can sound polished while describing a workplace that does not exist. It may add equipment, qualifications or promises that the employer never supplied. The right review is factual and task-specific: compare every meaningful statement with the actual assignment before anyone is invited to rely on it.
Remove invented requirements
Check each duty against the worksite plan. If the tool adds forklift operation to a packing assignment, remove it unless that is genuinely required and the qualification process is in place. Do not accept a generic industry description as a safe substitute for your own task boundaries.
Review education, experience and physical requirements for relevance. Avoid blanket language that excludes people unnecessarily. Describe essential tasks accurately and use an appropriate accommodation process rather than assuming everyone performs them in exactly the same way.
Add the local facts it cannot know
Confirm the entry gate, supervisor, shift time zone, lifting aids, PPE, hazards and expected end time. These facts are usually missing from generic prompts. If a detail is uncertain, say so in the brief and identify who will resolve it.
Check wage, benefit and schedule language carefully. AI may add “competitive pay,” “full benefits” or “guaranteed hours” without evidence. Replace those phrases with actual approved information, or omit them. Never invent an operational promise to make a request more appealing.
Approve meaning, not just grammar
Have the person responsible for the assignment read the final brief. Save the approved version and revisit it when conditions change. A spellcheck is not a safety review, and fluent writing does not determine lawful wages or worker status.
NUMARK.AI does not currently provide an AI job-writing feature. This is guidance for employers who use external drafting tools. The platform remains Michigan-first with work activation and dispatch pending; an attractive description cannot turn a planned request into a confirmed shift.
Before your next step
- Compare every duty with the real worksite.
- Remove unsupported benefits, hours and equipment claims.
- Obtain approval from the responsible site contact.
